Hadley Update July 15, 2009:

Although Hadley has a long way to go in his recovery, his physical condition seems to be improving and he continues normal body functions and interactions with people. His spirits are high and he is being treated for his burns, pain and infection. He is also currently undergoing physical rehabilitation therapy sessions with our veterinary staff and did well in his last session. Below are some updated pictures of Hadley.

All of us at the Humane Society would like to thank the community for the unbelievable outpouring to help Hadley. To date we have raised over $10,000 to help provide him the medical care he needs. If there is money left over from Hadley's treatment, all the money donated will go to the Humane Society of Kent County Animal Cruelty Fund, which will allow us to investigate animal cruelty cases and treat the animals involved.

The Kent County Animal Shelter is following some leads regarding Hadley's case and we are referring all tips and information to the Kent County Animal Shelter for investigation. We are still asking individuals to call the Humane Society of Kent County at the numbers below if they have any information that will lead to the conviction of the abuser.

The Humane Society of Kent County, PETA and The Humane Society of the United States, are offering a $5,500 REWARD for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this act of cruelty. The incident took place somewhere around Turner Ave NW, between Ann and Leonard Streets between the dates of June 26 to July 1, 2009.
