Hadley Update July 23,2009:

Hadley has a new favorite spot here at the Humane Society - the windowsill in the veterinary clinic, where he can sit and watch the birds and the rest of the outdoors (see picture below). His new comfy position has helped lift Hadley's mood and spirits. Hadley has been recovering from a few complications secondary to his burns, but our staff has continued to make sure he's comfortable and he continues to show affection and interacts with people. Hadley is currently undergoing hydrotherapy sessions with our veterinary staff, doing well in each session. Both of Hadley's ears have fallen off and he is still being treated for his pain, infection and burns. Below are some photos of Hadley enjoying his favorite spot...

We have received so many letters and support for Hadley, and we can't thank everyone enough. We've started a collection of all the letters we've received for Hadley so that he can see all the people out there who are thinking of him (see picture below). Again, all of us at the Humane Society would like to thank the community for the support and donations to help with Hadley's care. To date we have raised over $12,000 to help provide him the medical care he needs. Hadley's care is quite expensive and the donations are keeping pace with the cost of his care. They are welcomed and very much appreciated! Please know that if there is money left over from Hadley's treatment, all the money donated will go to the Humane Society of Kent County Animal Cruelty Fund, which will allow us to investigate animal cruelty cases and treat the animals involved.
