The 2nd Annual "Get Your Licks on Route 66" Adoption Tour

Chow Hound Pet Supply (Cascade Location)

For the second year, North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization, and FIDO Friendly Magazine and the Humane Society of Kent County (HSKC) are teaming up for the incredible life-saving tour, “Get Your Licks on Route 66” Adoption Tour.

The 2nd Annual “Get Your Licks on Route 66” tour is a national pet adoption event, where the Animal League’s 36-foot Mobile Adoption Unit (our Shelter on Wheels) travels the entire length of historic Route 66, from Illinois to California on an extraordinary 4-week life-saving tour.  Stopping at partnering animal shelters in key cities along the route, the adoption tour raises national awareness of the plight of homeless pets, enhances shelter visibility and increases pet adoptions.

This year, HSKC will be the first stop on the tour!  The tour will be at the Chow Hound Pet Supply (6787 Cascade Rd. SE) in Cascade between 2 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8.  The tour will swing by HSKC on Wednesday morning and pick up some of our adoptable animals in hopes of adopting them out to loving homes!  You don’t want to miss this - stop by the event to support HSKC, get some great giveaways and discounts, and possibly find your new pet!
